Tracy Boomer
Guitar Mentor
We are so blessed to have found not just a skilled guitar tutor, but a caring and understanding support worker and counsellor who also happens to play a great guitar. Tracy embodies the ethos of Tamwel Arts — we’re not just about teaching great musicians, we’re about supporting the growth of amazing humans.
Tracy brings a strengths-based, flexible, and creative approach to her work with students. With extensive experience supporting young people’s mental health, she is passionate about empowering students to develop confidence, a positive mindset, and a strong sense of self-belief. Tracy adapts her sessions intuitively, meeting each student where they are and responding creatively to their individual needs.
Originally from Canberra, Tracy has performed from a young age in a variety of bands and duos, with a strong focus on vocals and acoustic guitar. Having also studied classical guitar in her teens, she offers students a wide skill set — including fingerpicking, chords and barre chords, strumming techniques, pick use, and personalised goal-setting tailored to each learner.
Alongside tutoring guitar throughout her early career, Tracy has worked as a band mentor and manager with young people through the Girls Rock Program in Canberra, supporting diverse groups of emerging musicians. She is a qualified counsellor and frequently integrates music and art into her therapeutic work, recognising their powerful role in emotional expression and regulation.
Tracy has many years’ experience working with neurodivergent young people and understands the importance of patience, emotional safety, and creative flexibility when building meaningful connections.
Like all Tamwel Arts tutors, Tracy holds current DHS Working With Children Checks, Police Checks, and appropriate insurance.
