Andrew O’Loughlin
Violin & Viola Tutor
Andrew grew up in the southern suburbs of Adelaide and began learning viola in Year 4 — a journey that quickly became a lifelong love of music, even if the instrument initially chose him.
Andrew commenced a Science degree at the University of Adelaide before realising his true passion lay in music and teaching. He went on to complete a Diploma of Music, followed by a Bachelor of Music, and has since dedicated his career to supporting students through thoughtful, engaging, and safe music education.
Andrew teaches with students’ health and happiness as his top priority, creating lessons that are fun, motivating, and technically sound. He places strong emphasis on correct technique to support long-term skill development and help prevent injury, particularly for young and growing musicians.
Known for his warm, relatable teaching style, Andrew builds strong connections with his students and is well loved for his calm and encouraging approach. Andrew and Tammy have worked together for many years tutoring music at Tatachilla Lutheran College and share a love of dogs — with Andrew also breeding and showing German Shepherds.
Andrew joined Tamwel Arts in 2021 and tutors violin and viola. Families are welcome to book a trial lesson by calling 0410 595 300.
